Hello everyone. I’m Etienne — Warren Liburd’s son.

Many of you have known my father as your tax preparer, how you’ve trusted for up to 4 decades. Most have been referred by a friend or family member. Some of you have watched it grow from the beginning, some are brand new to him, and all points in between.

 

I want to speak to you honestly.

Last year was extremely difficult. My father became very sick — much sicker than many people realized. He still tried to show up and honor his word to take care of his clients / friends. That’s who he is. Whether that was right or wrong, it was his decision, and that time is past, we don’t look back, we’re moving forward.

 

Some of you waited patiently while he worked through that season. Your patience meant more than you know.

Some of you couldn’t wait and needed to go elsewhere. You had to leave — I understand, we understand. When taxes need to be done, they need to be done.

If you haven't been for quite some time and have no intentions of ever returning, we thank you for your past patronage and wish you well for the future.

 

Today, he is back home recovering, slowly but steadily. While he regains his strength, I am stepping in to carry on operational responsibility, ensuring deadlines are met, and the work is done properly. He will be assisting me to oversee that 40 years of experience is applied lovingly:).

 

I’m putting my youth to use, so he can relax but still be around.

We are continuing something that was built over all of those years — relationships, trust, and consistency.

As part of my involvement we are also expanding beyond core income tax services to include Strategic Financial Planning covering many areas as an integrated division within the firm. It will be a win-win for all IBS clients.

 

Now, to some logistics:

The (IBS) Invermac Business Services website has been rebuilt with the option to book your documents drop-off or in person appts at your convenience.

 

You can also upload files via the website or use the standard email option. We have a new email address to send to.

If you choose to drop off your documentation in person, please note we will scan your documents and return them immediately so we can begin working right away.

There is a downloadable checklist on the website to ensure nothing is missed on your end.

 

And one final thing — if you believe my father’s 40 years of service deserves any recognition, below this video, I’m asking for a 5-star Google review that would mean a great deal. He has never asked for reviews.

Unknown to him, I’m asking for reviews to help our Google algorithm honour his efforts.

 

The only negative ones came during the year he was battling a serious illness. That context matters.

 

More than anything, I want you to know this: the integrity of this firm remains intact. The commitment remains intact. And the standard moving forward will reflect that.
